Privacy Policy for LumiPals

• LumiPals has no ads of any kind.
• It has no accounts, no sign-in, no chat and no way for anyone to share anything with other people.
• We do not ask for, collect or store a child's name, email address, photos, location or any other personal information.
• Your chosen pal, background, light and sound settings are saved only on your device.
• The optional Premium purchase is handled by Google Play. We never see payment details.
• Buying, restoring a purchase and every link that leaves the app are behind a grown-up check.

LumiPals does not create an account or send anything to Mood Pixel. To make the app work, it saves the following on your device only:

• the pal and background that were last chosen
• settings such as the light colour, sound, music, the selected bedside track, the sleep sound, the sleep timer and haptics
• whether Premium is owned, so it keeps working offline
• when the weekly free try was last used, and when a pal unlocked by a free try locks again

This information never leaves the device and is not linked to anyone's identity. It is deleted if the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared. A Premium purchase can always be restored from Google Play.

LumiPals shows no ads: no banners, no videos and no full-screen ads. It contains no advertising software and does not request the device's advertising ID.

LumiPals offers one optional, one-time purchase called Premium. It unlocks every LumiPal and every background, including new ones added later. Nine pals and the bedroom background are free, and once a week one Premium pal can be tried for free for 24 hours. Premium is never needed to use LumiPals as a night light.

• Payments are processed entirely by Google Play. Mood Pixel never receives or stores card or payment details.
• LumiPals uses Google Play Billing, through Unity Technologies' in-app purchasing component, to check whether Premium has been bought and to restore it on a new device.
• Buying and restoring are behind a grown-up check (an addition question written in words), so children cannot start a purchase by accident.
• Google Play's own parental controls and purchase approvals also apply.

Buying Premium, Restore Purchase and every link that opens something outside the app (this Privacy Policy, rating the app, our other apps and our support email) are behind a grown-up check. LumiPals has no social features and no way to contact other users.

LumiPals does not include any analytics or tracking tools, and Mood Pixel does not receive information about how anyone uses the app.

If your device settings allow it, Google Play may provide Mood Pixel with anonymous, aggregated crash and performance reports (for example, how often the app stops unexpectedly on a type of device). These reports do not identify anyone.

LumiPals only uses what it needs:

• internet and network status, to check the Premium purchase with Google Play
• Google Play billing, for the optional Premium purchase
• vibration, for the gentle haptic feedback when squishing a pal (this can be switched off in the app)

LumiPals does not access the camera, microphone, contacts, messages, photos, files or location, and does not request the advertising ID.

LumiPals is designed for children, and we aim to meet Google Play's Families Policy, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, the EU and UK GDPR and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

We do not collect personal information from children. The app has no accounts, profiles, chat, sharing or advertising, and avoids pressure tactics such as countdowns, streaks or limited-time offers.

Mood Pixel does not sell or share personal information. The only third parties involved in running LumiPals are:

• Google (Google Play Billing for the Premium purchase, and Google Play services)
• Unity Technologies (the in-app purchasing component that connects LumiPals to Google Play Billing)

These providers process information under their own privacy policies and their agreements with app developers, including the restrictions that apply to apps for children.

Everything LumiPals saves stays on the device until the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared. Mood Pixel holds no user records. Information processed by Google or Unity for a purchase is kept according to their own retention policies.

• Use LumiPals for free with nine pals and the bedroom background, or buy Premium for everything.
• Turn sound, music, sleep sounds and haptics on or off, and set a sleep timer, in the app.
• Clear the app's data or uninstall it to remove everything LumiPals has saved.
• Use Google Play's parental controls and Family Link to manage purchases and app use.
• Contact us with any question or request about privacy.

LumiPals keeps the information it uses to a minimum, stores it only on the device, and relies on Google Play for payments. No electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure, but there is no account or personal profile to put at risk.

We may update this Privacy Policy when LumiPals changes, for example if it gains new features or uses a different service provider. The updated version will be published here with a new effective date. We will not start collecting personal information from children without first making sure it is lawful and, where required, obtaining a parent's permission.
